MLM Myth Series - MLM Is All About Recruiting

99% of network marketing opportunities operate in basically the same way. They all have a range of products for you to sell and profit from, and you can find other people to do the same, and also profit from what they sell.

By setting up the opportunity this way they achieve a number of important goals: You don't have to fear competition [you profit from them], you have an incentive to grow the total number of company representatives, and you can continue to make money even when you've stopped working.

Now that's great, and you'll certainly make more money if you introduce more people into the business, BUT... you DON'T need to get anyone to join, and you don't need to be responsible for anyone else's success.

I'm going to destroy this extremely popular myth right now: You CAN earn decent money simply by selling products to people who want them.

Once you've built up your customer base and you know where to go to get your orders, you can earn a reliable income and enjoy yourself in the process.

Some people don't like the idea of recruiting other people into their business. And that's absolutely fine! How do they get around it? Simple. They just don't do it!

Some people you will come across truly believe in this myth, and they will see a non-recruiting network marketer as a waste. But here's what you need to remember: This is your business and it's up to you how you run it.

If you're happy selling products to people and don't want to take it any further, then just focus on building a large customer base to provide you with a stable income for years to come.

Still not convinced? Think about this...

How many companies do you buy from in any given week? If you're like most people your answer is probably several dozen. Now, how many of those companies try and recruit you to go and work for them, and to sell their products? Probably zero!

That's because they already work to a solid business model. They provide products, they find people who want them, and they sell lots. It's already a winning solution. They don't need to recruit extra people in order to make wild profits.

This business model is exactly the same as the "marketing" aspect of "network marketing". An already proven and profitable business model.

Again, if you don't want to recruit other people you don't need to.

Don't let this myth guide you off course!

To Your Success,

MLM Myth #2: You Need To Put In Super-Human Hours Every Week

"Effort only fully releases its reward after a person refuses to quit." - Napoleon Hill

I'm sure you've heard the stories of people who have started a network marketing business and got up at some Super-Human hour to start selling their products or promoting their opportunity, all before they go to work at their regular job.

Then as soon as they get home it's a quick bite to eat and they're back at it again, having meetings, phoning people, delivering orders, or simply promoting their business online... all until they're too tired to do anything but fall straight back into bed again!

I'm going to bust this myth right now: Of course it's true that you have to commit yourself to your business in order to start reaping the rewards, but you certainly don't need to give up all your spare hours to do it.

Regular effort is good, but don't go overboard!

If you look at the people who start off in network marketing by giving up all their spare time, neglecting their friends, and devoting every possible resource to their business, you'll see that they can rarely keep it up for longer than a couple of months before burning themselves out. That's no way to live, and that's no way to achieve the kind of success you want.

You'll get much better results by devoting a smaller amount of time to your business on a regular basis, on your own terms. It might take you longer in the short-term, but I guarantee you'll enjoy the journey a whole lot more.

You need to run your business, not let it run you.

It's a great idea to come up with a plan to fit the business into your life without it taking over entirely. Set some rules about times your business will never touch. Perhaps Sunday will always be out of bounds, or maybe Movie Night with your kids, or Date Night with your spouse. Perhaps all three.

Don't believe the myth that you have to put in more hours than a Superhero to get anywhere in Network Marketing.

After all, network marketing is about improving your life, and adding to it with personal development and a second income. It's not about flogging yourself to death in the process!

Successfully Yours,

A Basic Guide To The Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) Network

Multi-level marketing (MLM) is also referred to as network marketing. The MLM is essentially a type of business model that combines direct marketing with franchising. The term business model describes a vast range of informal and formal models that are used by companies to represent various aspects of business, such as operational processes, organizational structures, and financial forecasts.

The MLM business functions by enrolling un-salaried salespeople to sell products and meanwhile earn additional sales commissions based on the sales of people enrolled into their downline, an organization of people that includes direct recruits, recruits' recruits and so on.

This arrangement is similar to franchises where royalties are paid from the sales of individual franchise operations to the franchisor as well as to an area or region manager. There can be multiple levels of people receiving royalties from one person's sales. New MLM members may be required to pay for their own training and marketing materials, or to buy a significant amount of inventory to start their career.

The compensation plans vary from one MLM business to the other, but there are basic plans in place. The Unilevel or Stairstep Breakaway plans are the oldest and most popular in the MLM business. These plans features two types of distributors either managers or non-managers.

The pay method of these plans includes Baseshop overrides where there are overrides of managers from their subordinate non-managers. This method is the same as any other type of sales organization. Generational overrides are overrides of managers from the baseshop of managers who were previously their subordinate. Most plans compensate at least three generations of such managers. Executive bonuses are commissions for managers who exceed a posted sales quota.

For example, 2% of the total company sales revenue may go to a bonus pool that is shared monthly to managers who exceed $10,000 in that month. Commissions are based on the aspect of cycles, where a distributor is paid a fixed amount whenever both legs achieve a certain number of sales units each. Commissions are paid incrementally when the sales volume in each leg matches.

In recent years, the MLM business has developed an image problem due to its resemblance to the illegal pyramid or other similar schemes. MLM businesses operate in the United States in all 50 states and in more than 100 other countries around the world.

Many pyramid schemes try to present themselves as legitimate MLM businesses. In the legitimate MLM companies, commissions are earned only on sales of the company's products and/or services. No money may be earned from recruiting alone through sign-up fees, though money earned from the sales of members recruited is one attraction of MLM arrangements.

A commonly adopted test of legality is that MLMs follow the so-called 70% rule which prevents members "inventory loading" in order to qualify for additional bonuses. The 70% rule requires participants to sell 70% of previously purchased inventory before procuring new orders.

There are however variations in interpretations of this rule. Some attorneys insist that 70% of purchased inventory should be sold to people who are not participants in the business, while many MLM companies allow for self-consumption to be a significant part of the sales of a participant. The Federal Trade Commission offers advice for potential MLM members to help them identify those activities that could be scams.

Five Steps That Guarantee Article Network Marketing Success

If you have never familiarized yourself with the concept of article network marketing, the odds are good that you are missing out on an amazingly effective network marketing tool!

The concept itself is surprisingly simple: much like product placement in movies, article network marketing relies on a general content article containing references to and facts about the product you are selling and the business you are in. Of course, with anything that is deceptively simple there is also a large margin of error.

For those who are intrigued by this completely legal way of reaching a whole new target audience, here are five steps that guarantee article network marketing success.

1. The content must be well written. Most network marketers will outsource this aspect of the business and if you do so, you will be wise to request some samples of the work first. This will enable you to understand the effect an article written by that individual or company will have on you, and by extension most likely will have on other readers. Look for typos and be on alert for grammatical errors or punctuation mistakes.

2. The content of the article needs to relate to your business or product in some way. If you are selling a wellness product you will be hard-pressed to have it included in a movie review (although a highly skilled writer is able to pull off this feat) but it will shine in a general content article that discusses health, wellness, and related issues.

3. If you are using article network marketing to showcase your product, think of the attributes that best describe it. Is it a drink or a solid supplement? What is its color? How does it taste? Should it be consumed cold or hot? Could it be incorporated into a recipe or dish? What are the effects of the product and how long does it usually take until someone will realize them?

All of these questions could and should be answered within the article to give the reader a solid understanding and also feel for the product without necessitating them to buy it first.

4. Do not let the article be little more than a bit of writing designed to hype the product. This will not hold any appeal to the average reader. The trick to successful article network marketing is the skillful incorporation of the product into a well written article that is of general interest.

5. Utilize the article by posting it on sites inviting submissions, posting it in forums, and also sending it out as part of an email newsletter. Be very cautious so that you are not actually spamming a site or misuse your email address leads, but at the same time capitalize on the finished article in each and every way you can think of.

The more articles you craft in this vein, the more impact you will have. Of vital importance, in that case, is that each and every article offers a new insight and is markedly different from its predecessors!

Choosing An MLM Business Opportunity Wisely

When it comes to any online job opportunity you want to take precautions to protect yourself against fraud and business scams. Unfortunately there are scam artists who see an enticing job opportunity and know they can make money by duplicating the website and literally conning people out of their money. This creates fraud victims who lose money and trust. The businesses that were duplicated from lose trust from customers who get the wrong impression after scam artists have harmed their company’s reputation.

In order to protect you and to be better able to choose an MLM business there are some guidelines to follow. You want to first verify the company then you want to verify the site. Take the time to research the company. Make sure that it is legitimate. You can search domain names to see how long the site has been active. If the site is only a few weeks or months old do further research. The site could be a scam or it could be a new company.

Check with the Better Business Bureau since they know if a company is legitimate or not. If the company is legitimate, check the site. Make sure that BBB symbols or other protections symbols appear on the site. Look for money back guarantees or trial period offers. Companies who are true have no concerns about posting this information. Fraud sites could care less to take the time to include this feature. Once you feel safe that the company and site are valid you want to read over the full details of the MLM business.

Any time you choose a job online or not you want to be sure the position is suitable for your needs and requirements. You want to have a clear and complete understanding of the jobs requirements of you as well. What hours will you need to work and what income can you expect to earn? Do you need to pay a set up fee or membership fee? This information is important.

Without a full understanding of the MLM business you cannot make the proper choice in accepting or declining this opportunity. You do not want to begin this career and realize that you don’t understand how to make the business profitable. You do not want to waste time, money or effort on the wrong MLM business.

Believe in your product. If you have a product such as a nutritional supplement drink and you think its nothing more than sugar water, how can you sell it? Try the product for yourself. Take the time to understand what it is, how it works, is it worth the price you sell it for? If you can answer these questions honestly and positively you will have a much larger chance for business success.

Choosing an MLM business wisely is all a matter of taking your time with the entire process. Take the time to search for a legitimate company, search for a suitable business schedule, be patient in learning about your product. By following these guidelines you will be ensuring your business begins on a solid foundation that you can build your business up from.

4 Things To Watch Out For From A Home Internet Based Business Opportunity

There are so many opportunities on the internet offering to set people up in their own home based internet business that it can be difficult to separate the real, legitimate opportunities from the ones that only want your money. Knowing what to look for hidden within the offers can mean the difference between finding a legitimate business to operate and ending up helping someone else make money while losing your own.

With most fraudulent offers for in internet business there are four red flags that need to be thoroughly investigated before signing up to work for the website. Understand that not all of the companies that make these claims are out to take your money, but these are four things that many less than honest companies have in common:

1. Large upfront investment
2. The chance to make big money with little work
3. Do not clearly state what you will be selling
4. Lack of available contact information

While it is not uncommon for business to want a fee to become a representative for their business, you have to consider the amount demanded from you before you can start selling their product or service. You should also have a clear picture of what you will get in return for your investment. It is common for the term training to be listed, but many times the training consists of links to other sites where you are expected to learn about the company’s business model.

The training may also focus on how to recruit others into the business, offering to pay a “bounty” for bringing in new people. A company that focuses on bringing in more people instead of selling the product may be on the border of being illegal.

Anyone who has ever been involved in a business knows it takes work. One of the most common pitches is the promise of a big payday without having to work more than an hour or two a day…or even a week. There is no such thing as a free lunch and those who try to convince you otherwise and not being totally honest. That disclaimer about income may not a representative of the potential earnings, should beg the question about why even bother to list it.

If you have been reading an online based business opportunity for several minutes and have no idea about the product or service you are being asked to sell, it could be an indication of a scam. Many keep it a secret until you have spent your money and find out there is no way you can sell this to others with a clear conscious. Know what the product is, and how much it will cost, before considering the offer any further.

Look for contact information. If the only means of contacting the company is through an email address, it could be they don’t plan to be around long enough to answer any questions or complaints. Money back guarantees are also only about as good as the contact information. Email addresses and post office boxes are not good contacts.

Getting MLM Facts From Experienced Journals

Those with questions about network marketing or for getting help understanding how certain companies establish their programs, subscribing to a network marketing journal can offer the best news and views from those in the business. Online journals can be helpful to a point, but considering that on the internet, anyone can open a web site, publish information and claim to be an expert. Subscribing to a fraudulent journal will usually provide information leading you to opportunities that are equally fraudulent.

A printed journal can be expensive to produce and those who publish them are not going to spend that kind of money putting out a fake product. Do not misunderstand, there are many excellent online network marketing business journals being published buy quality companies, but insuring the information is legitimate is your responsibility before subscribing to any program or service.

Many of the journals contain informative articles by experience network marketing professionals. They make their living through marketing programs and not by writing how-to books on network marketing. Additionally, a marketer with integrity may relate their experience they gained working their own plan, but rarely try to entice others into joining while writing about network marketing in a professional journal. They will leave the pitch to their web site sales letter, referred to in the writer’s biography.

When a program runs afoul of the law, issues of how this affected its members are often discussed in journals as well as how to make sure a program you may be considered joining fares up under legal scrutiny. The journals can also help prospective marketers spot trends in new products and show how to project an upcoming increase in business or what can make a particular product sell better during rough financial times.

Being able to look ahead may help some people learn when to join or when to exit a particular program. While many of the most successful multilevel marketers view their programs like safe stock investments, staying in for the long haul. Others view them much like a day trader, getting in when the time is right and getting out just before it begins to fall, often leaving a lot of money on the table, but happy with any profit they turned on their investment.

Those with no experience in the network marketing field may be well served by reading several different journals about the industry before falling prey to an overzealous friend or acquaintance. In most business decisions caution is suggested and those friends who push the need for making an immediate choice, in or out, often make it sound like you will get no sympathy from them if the program goes through the ceiling while you are busy researching the pros and cons.

Many experts agree that once a good program is developed and open the quicker you join the up the marketing tiers you can be, resulting in higher commissions. However, they also agree that a person should not jump on a program without first making sure it is something they are capable of doing and will remain interested in it long enough to succeed.
