Becoming an Expert for Your Customers/Prospects with Article Marketing

If you were considering spending your hard-earned money on something, would you prefer to make that purchase from someone who you considered to be an expert, or from someone who you weren't sure knew anything about what you were buying?

You'd buy from the expert wouldn't you? Most people would agree with you – that it's better to buy from an expert. That's why in your MLM business, it's extremely important to be an expert in the eyes of your customers and the people who may eventually become a part of your downline.

Article marketing is one way to effectively build your reputation as an expert. It's easy to do and completely free, and it has a huge impact! A well-written article that is packed with good, solid information is the kind of article that will find its way in front of potentially thousands and thousands of eyeballs!

All these eyeballs could belong to potential customers or distributors for your opportunity!

Let's start at the beginning. How can article marketing make you an expert? It's very simple, actually. If you publish a good article online – one that informs, helps and even entertains, people will read it and associate you with the topic of the article. If you publish more articles on the same topic or related topics and people find those articles to be helpful and interesting, people will begin to think of you as an expert on the topic. 

They can bounce between your articles and start to build a great respect for you and your knowledge.
Being an expert is an advantage, as we've already discussed. Think about it. If you have a toothache, you are going to consult with your dentist about it because he or she is perceived to be an expert on how to handle toothaches. You're not going to ask your car mechanic about your toothache. 

In MLM, the concept is the same. You have your business opportunity and your products. You are an expert on those things. One way to prove that to the public and to gain the confidence of customers is through publishing many, many articles that constantly reinforce your image as an expert. 

I bet someone who is reading this is thinking, “Oh, but I can't write articles!” It's true that some people don't feel they have the skill (they are skilled at other things) to write an article. And some people haven't got the time or inclination to do it. This doesn't mean that you shouldn't use article marketing as a way to build your reputation as an expert. What this means is that you should get help with writing articles. 

You own your own business. You know your products inside and out. You believe in your products. You're an expert! Just because you can't or prefer not to write your own articles doesn't take that away from you! 

Consider hiring a skilled ghostwriter who will write the articles for you. You receive all rights to the article when you pay your ghostwriter, and then you will publish the articles in your name! There is nothing wrong with doing this, and in fact it shows that you know how to capitalize on your own talents and let someone else capitalize on theirs! It's working smart!

Magnetic Sponsoring is a pretty common term in the world of network marketing. Most people have heard of it. As a network marketing system that was developed by Mike Dillard, Magnetic Sponsoring has gotten a lot of press over the years since its introduction to marketers everywhere. Let's take a look at what this program is about, what it does and why it's different.

Magnetic Sponsoring is a solution to a problem. The problem of recruiting. That's probably the best thing I can tell you about it. The system shows you how to create the type of life you desire through multi-level marketing by finding and recruiting great people into your business.

Magnetic Sponsoring teaches you to develop your reputation as a trusted expert in your field. This means that instead of having to chase people for the sake of telling them about your opportunity and risking irritating and alienating them, you become attractive to them as a business associate. People come to you. This solves the common problem of prospecting. You become a farmer instead of a hunter.

Think about this for a moment. One of the biggest pains for most network marketers is chasing down prospects. And cold-calling? Forget about it! The number of people on the whole planet who actually enjoy cold-calling is... well, almost non-existent! Most of us can't stand it. So why do it?!

The basic premise of Magnetic Sponsoring is this:

 You learn about attraction marketing, including how to effectively create an online presence that leads prospects and customers to you – you don't have to do any chasing.
 You learn about the funded proposal system. Funded proposals let you earn money from the beginning. This helps you sustain growth in your business from the first moment and helps you keep the momentum going during critical growing stages.
 You learn how to use all the tools (there are a lot of them!) the Internet offers for creating your business and building your system.
 You learn how to continue to grow your downline and business with advanced techniques.

All these things are important. But my favorites to talk about are attraction marketing and funded proposals.

Attraction marketing is such a great concept, and it works. This is not some sort of mumbo-jumbo either, it's a specific system that can be learned and put into action for getting people to notice you and your products and opportunity. Once you have that set up people will be asking you if they can join your business!

It's so much better doing business this way because the people who come to you are primed and ready to get started!

The other thing that I really love is the idea of funded proposals. A funded proposal is this: You offer a great quality, but fairly inexpensive product to your target market. When a customer buys this product, a couple good things happen. First you've gained a pre-qualified prospect - they've shown a genuine interest in what you're offering and will likely also be interested in your products and opportunity. Second, you've made a bit of money to help pay for advertising and continuing to grow your business. For these reasons, funded proposals are very, very effective!

Add in some killer knowledge about how to use the Internet and all it's tools to your advantage, and how to keep growing your business, and you've got a winner of a system. That's why Magnetic Sponsoring is different! And that's why you should apply it to your business!

Understanding Marketing Vs. Advertising

Many business owners get confused over two of the most common terms used, whether online or offline, and those are advertising and marketing. Essentially, the terms can be simplified with advertising referring to a particular product or service for a specified period of time and marketing is establishing the company's name and reputation. Although completely different in their theories, no businesses can survive without having a viable plan for both.

Advertising essentially is charged with having a product or service and creating a need or a perceived desire of the consumer to buy it. The advertising message is designed to create awareness that the product exists, how it will be of value to the consumer or make their lives easier because they have it and explain why they should buy it immediately. Many of today's advertisers, even internet advertisers use the four Ps of advertising of stating how the product benefits consumers, giving the price that reflects a great value for their money, informs the consumer of all the places they can find the product and promote the product for repeat or additional sales.

One of the downfalls of internet marketing has been the approach of marketing based on the company's objectives while ignoring the needs of the consumer and not taking profit into account. Many of the online marketers place their focus on recruitment of new distributors of a product or service and have no idea whether or not there is a need for the product. They also tend to take a shotgun approach to their marketing efforts, hoping at least one of several hundred shots will hit the target.

A pure marketing plan will anticipate the needs of the consumer and make information about the product available to the consumer before they realize they need it and want it. Planting this seed of desire can also help establish a higher price of the item and consumers are always willing to pay a premium price for something they believe they cannot do without.

While the principal of supply and demand has long been used to calculate prices on many products or services, it does not perform as well on internet service-based businesses. While supply and demand usually work together in creating market value, supply can influence demand causing an upward spiral in prices which can eventually lead to a lower level of demand.

In recent years, many electronic game companies have rigidly enforced the quantity of their products being produced or distributed, all the time using advertising to promote a perceived need for the product. While controlling the supply and advertising to increase demand, the price will drift higher in an open market.

To better define the difference, think about a favorite fast-food restaurant and if the first thing that comes to mind is one particular food item they sell, then advertising has done its job. If the first thing that comes to mind is the company's logo or a physical trait of their buildings, then marketing has won the battle.
